Cream's 15th Birthday @ Nation, Liverpool

I used to travel up the M6 to Nation in Liverpool as a punter to all Cream's Birthdays. They're legendary parties, and to be back for the 15th anniversary to DJ was a real honour. Radio 1 were there with Pete Tong, plus Armin Van Buuren, David Guetta, Marco V, Adam Sheridan and Tylor-Leigh and an annexe full of Cream classics headlined by James Barton.

I was billed in the infamous Cream Courtyard 1-3am, taking over from Adam. I usually play and prefer the main room, but I was looking forward to getting back in the Courtyard, particularly with the recent re-introduction of Cream's £1 million sound system to the room. They'd also built a new DJ booth and the room was going off like a rocket when I got on.

Adam was playing at a decent pace and taking over around 1am, I kept the temp right up for 30 minutes or so. I then took things down a bit with some pumpin, driving house, and took the bpm's right back up for the last 45 minutes, before Marco V took over at 3am. To say I enjoyed my set is an understatement, I loved every second. The crowd were bang up for it, the club looked and sounded amazing, and it reminded me just what has made Cream so special for all these years.

Over in the main room David Guetta was holding court in a way only he can, and come the 6am curfew he didn't want to finsih and carried on an extra 30 minutes. As did Armin Van Buuren in the courtyard, after flying in by private jet from Cardiff for his closing set.

We recorded my two hour set from the Courtyard and you can listen to this exclusively via www.garethwyn.net in mixes. Enjoy!

Mixmag Ibiza Blog 5

Another Ibiza thunders by. It goes far too quickly for my liking. Friday 20 th September was my final show of the Balearic season, and the closing party for Cream in Ibiza. I was in the main room with Ferry Corsten and Paul van Dyk, with Anthony Probyn, Sebastian Ingrosso and Axwell on the Mixmag Terrace. As always, the main room was rammed from midnight, the punters literally came bouncing in. I love that club, it's probably the best main room in the world. The sound system in there is amazing to play on, you can keep pushing it up and up, and it still wants more.

I've been using some pumping house in my Ibiza sets this summer, and it's worked a treat, progressing through to more driving trance as the night goes on. You can check my main room set out from the Cream closing party exclusively via my website . Enjoy! Ferry took over from me, and I received a massive cheer from the Cream faithful. Job done, and now time to party. Paul van Dyk was fantastic as well, and played by new track ‘La Galeria'. This record is really gaining momentum now, watch this space.

I've banged on about the Cream Mixmag Terrace all summer, but it really has been that good. I've been to all Ibiza's clubs many times, and take it from me - that terrace is the best house room in Ibiza. It's a feel good vibe on there, everyone is smiling their face off all night, and the Swedish house mafia have taken it to another level in 2007. They rocked the place, a great finale to an unbelievable season. Roll on 2008.

I'm back in Liverpool in a few weeks for Cream's 15 th Birthday at Nation. I'm DJing in the Courtyard with Armin Van Buuren, Marco V and Adam Sheridan, with Pete Tong and David Guetta in the main room and James Barton heading the Cream classics in the Annexe. Saturday 20 th October is the date, tickets are flying out for this, full details at www.cream.co.uk. Check back here for a full update from the night, bring it on.
