House Rules this Saturday @ Plan B

We're back to Brixton this Saturday for the one and only House Rules. If you're in town, come on down

New sounds

I've been crazy busy in the studio for the last few weeks. New tracks coming your way from me on my label Beat That, Bogota coming out on Beatport next Tuesday 4th May, Kato should be a week after that. I've also just remixed the Christina Aguilera comeback single for Sony and have a huge record coming out in May called Beautiful. As soon as can post a clip up, I will, just tying down the record deal. See ya!

LED Festival London - August 2010

I'm a Londoner, and although I'll be a Creamfields on the Saturday, check this quality new festival launching in Victoria Park for August Bank Holiday weekend, LED Festival. Fantastic line up both days, this will only get bigger, mark my words! Great for the capital to have new events like this, David Guetta, Soulwax, get involved..

Production and studio set up

Howdie. I've had loads of emails about my production set up, what I use to make my music. So I thought I'd give you a bit of an insight right here! I'm completely VST'd up, so no external hardware at all. I use a eight dual core processor Mac Pro desktop, with Logic 9. I also have exactly the same set up on a 13" MacBook Pro that enables me to get ideas down out on the road. I use an Apogee Duet sound card, with two KRK Rokit 6 monitors.

In terms of plug ins, I deliberately don't have loads. I love Native Instruments Komplete, and use all their synths. Rob Papen's Predator and Albino are also cool, and all my records have the Sonalkiss TBK filters on. Huge! I also use a lot of Logic's own synths to make my own sounds, the ES1 and ES2 in particular. There's nothing you can't get out of these bad boys. I'm also all over the EXS24 sampler, a very powerful and creative AU, particularly when it comes to remixing! Here's a sneak at the project screen for the Beyonce 'Broken Hearted Girl' remix I did last summer for Sony, will give you trainspotters out there an idea of how I set up and use Logic. Hope this is useful!
